The Lenovo Tab M10 16GB (ZA480110SE) is quite cheap and has a convincing display. The very average battery turns out to be less convincing. And when it comes to performance and features, the tablet only cooks on the back burner. The bottom line is that tablet newcomers and frugal users get a good price-performance package.
Lenovo Tab M10 16GB in the test: bright spot display, battery values not great
The Lenovo Tab M10 16GB (ZA480110SE) costs around 170 euros, and the 10-inch IPS display is quite successful for this price range. It has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, a pixel density of 224 ppi and the checkerboard contrast of 156: 1 is even the highest in our entire list of the best. With the sRGB color space coverage, the tablet achieves a great 98.9 percent and with DCI-P3 a sufficient 77.3 percent. The brightness we measured is a good 364 cd/m². The battery has a capacity of 4,850 mAh and has average runtime values: It takes around 7 hours to watch videos and 8:40 hours to surf the net. The charging time is 3 hours.
Lenovo Tab M10 16GB - Little performance and equipment
The benchmarks reflect the low performance: 4,300 points in PCMark, 493 points in 3DMark and 388 points in APPMark Productivity. High-end tablets get two to four times as good results here. And the Lenovo Tab M10 takes about 15 seconds to render a PDF file of around 5 MB via WLAN.
With the 16 GB internal memory that Lenovo has donated to the device, only 7.5 GB remain available for the user. The internal memory can, however, be expanded with a memory card. In addition to the WLAN standard 802.11ac, there is also Bluetooth 4.2 as a wireless transmission type. A 3.5 mm jack output is also available, as is a Type-C USB 2.0 socket. The two cameras have a resolution of 5 and 1.9 megapixels and the two speakers are allowed to reproduce the sounds in Dolby Atmos. The meager equipment and performance are justified by the price of only around 170 euros. As a result, the overall satisfactory tablet (grade 3.0) has a very good price-performance ratio.
Lenovo Tab M10 16GB - LTE for mobile internet
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 32GB LTE (SM-T515NZKD) is a bit more expensive at around 220 euros, but has 4G LTE (Nano-Sim). You also get more power and equipment and a better battery.
