Parallels: Install multiple operating systems on MAC OS X

Recommended Posts

Microsoft Windows 10 is already coming out. If you don't want to get used to the new operating system, you can opt for an alternative. An Apple computer with Mac OS X is ideal. You don't even have to do without Windows. You can find out how to do this in this post.

How to install multiple operating systems on MAC OS X
Many Windows users are already using a mobile device from Apple and are more than satisfied with their iPhone or iPad. The tried and tested Microsoft Windows is only used on the desktop computer. A great alternative with many advantages is Apple's Mac OS X, which is available for both desktop computers and Macbooks. You don't have to do without the familiar Windows when you use the Parallels software.

Parralels, a software that brings Windows 8 and Windows 10 to the Mac
Using Parallels to install Microsoft Windows on your Mac computer is delightfully easy because the software provides you with a digital assistant. With this, the Windows system can be brought to the Mac via an installation DVD or an ISO image. All settings can easily be made by the software.

After the installation is complete, you can easily switch from the Mac interface to the familiar Windows environment. The so-called Coherance mode even allows you to use Windows programs on your Mac as if they were native Mac apps.

With all the automatic functions, numerous parameters can still be set for the Windows installation under Parallel. Among other things, you can specify how much processor and RAM power should flow into the virtual environment or whether Windows programs should be offered to start in the dock of the Mac interface.

Once Parallels, you have many operating systems
Although Parallels is primarily used for installing Windows 7 and Windows 8 on a Mac, the virtualization software can also handle other operating systems. Old Mac OS versions, for example, can be played in the same way as a Linux environment or Chrome OS. The latter are even available directly in the installation routine, so that no separate data carrier or an installation DVD is required.

During the test, this also applied to a preliminary version of the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system, for example. Parallels is chargeable and costs around 80 euros. An update appears with the new OS X versions and costs around 50 euros.
