Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab YT-X705F (ZA3V0011SE) Tablet with integrated suspension
The Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab is a fairly average tablet, but it has some practical features. You can comfortably hold it, stand it up, or even hang it on the wall. The device also has good speakers. The performance, on the other hand, is rather slow and the built-in hardware is also more in the lower middle class. The Yoga Smart Tab can be used for certain purposes. So we explain to you what you should pay attention to when buying a tablet.
Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab YT-X705F Review: stand and wall mount
Lenovo has come up with a few special features for the Yoga Smart Tab: The tablet is not completely flat, but has a cylindrical “kickstand” on one side. This offers space for powerful loudspeakers at both ends and has a fold-out stand that can also be used as a wall mount.
If you hold the tablet upright while reading, the component in turn serves as a practical handle, as is more familiar from eBook readers (for the eBook reader best list).
This makes the Yoga Smart Tab extremely versatile: you can set up the tablet, hang it up, hold it comfortably with one hand or use it as a multimedia station. This makes it suitable for work environments in which a mobile display is helpful, for example in gastronomy.
With its aluminum housing, the device also looks classy and high quality. Compared to other models, the tablet weighs a little more, namely 540 grams, but that’s not a problem. Only transport can sometimes be a bit cumbersome because the tablet takes up more space with its thick handle.
A lower middle class hardware
Despite the pleasing versatility, the Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab is technically a mid-range device. The Qualcomm processor Snapdragon 439 can even be classified as a lower middle class.
The tablet is not suitable for more demanding work and mobile gaming; it is at least sufficient for web surfing and videos, but you sometimes have to wait a little longer. The test PDF loads the device in 12 seconds, which is average. It looks similar with the benchmark results.
The 10.1-inch LC display is also comparatively unspectacular. The maximum brightness of 344 candelas per square meter is quite low, which means that readability suffers in the sunshine.
Outdoor use is only possible to a limited extent with the Yoga Smart Tab. The checkerboard contrast is pretty bad at 110: 1. The standard RGB color space is fully displayed, but the extended DCI-P3 color space is only around 77 percent.
The display is not suitable for HDR content. With normal videos in Full HD resolution, however, you will usually not notice any loss of quality.

Good equipment with usable speakers
The equipment of the Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab is good. You can choose between a version with 64 GB of storage space and 4 GB of RAM and a slimmed-down version with 32 GB of storage and 3 GB of RAM.
The price difference, however, is negligible. The memory can be expanded with a microSD card. You have WLAN 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and a USB-C interface (USB 2.0) at your disposal, and a jack socket for headphones is also on board. However, there is no SIM card slot for mobile LTE Internet, you are limited to WiFi.
In addition, there are the good JBL speakers with Dolby Atmos certificate, which Lenovo has placed in the cylinder component. These actually stand out from the fairly common tablet equipment. The two cameras, a main camera with 8 megapixels and a front camera with 5 megapixels, are nothing special.
The daylight photos are usable, but the image quality is poor in poor lighting conditions. There is no flash or optical image stabilizer. Android 9 is installed as the operating system, so far nothing is known about plans for an update to Android 10.
A usable battery without highlights
The Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab is not particularly frugal with its 7,000 milliampere hour battery. The measurements show satisfactory results without any surprises. The runtime in video mode is just under 10 hours (09:57), and internet use is possible for just over 10 hours (10:15).
With normal use, one battery charge will get you through the day. Charging with the 10 watt power supply takes a long time, namely four and a half hours.
The price is comparatively cheap
You can get the Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab at the time of review for around 280 euros ( for a price comparison ). In our price-performance assessment, this is quite cheap, but you will not get top performance.
However, if you have use for the flexible “kickstand” and the good speakers, the Lenovo device is well worth a look. There are a number of good mid-range alternatives.
